"Grayscale to color" is a great coloring technique to try if you want to learn how to use color in your illustrations or if you want to improve what you already know :)

Language: Spanish ( English speaker students will receive a pdf file that acts as subtitles where they can read the contents of the class in real time.

Students can also ask questions in real time during class and will be answered in English).

  • Starts September 20, 2025

  • Class Schedule: Saturdays from 11AM to 1 PM  (Time Zone in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico)

  • Course duration 10 sessions of 2 hours each (20 hours of class)

  • Level: Beginner-intermediate

  • Platform used: Zoom

  • Requirements : Laptop/Pc with Pen Tablet (Wacom/Huion/Xppen) or instead Ipad pro with apple pencil

  • Art program: Photoshop
    (The explanation of the exercises will be given mainly in photoshop, but you can use other programs such as Krita, Clip Studio paint, or Ipad apps such as Procreate, Artstudio pro or Clip studio paint)

  • Approximate duration: 2 months

 

Live classes, everything is explained in real time :) they are also recorded in case you want to see them again or in case you have not been able to attend the session. In each session there will be theory, exercises, doubt resolution and feedback.

During this theory–practice course, we will thoroughly explore the following topics:

  • Light and shadow: theoretical foundations and practical application to bring realism and depth to your illustrations.

  • Volume and depth: how to achieve a three-dimensional look in objects and characters, even from the sketch stage.

  • Sketch optimization: practical tips to improve the quality of your sketches.

  • Color over grayscale: exploring different tools and techniques to add color to a drawing previously created in grayscale.

  • Materials and textures: theory and techniques to convincingly depict various surfaces and finishes.

  • Composition theory: compositional principles to achieve visually striking colors.

  • Digital shortcuts: tricks and tools in digital art programs to speed up your workflow.

  • Rendering and final polish: how to give your illustration a professional finish.

  • Personalized feedback for every activity you submit, helping you improve and refine your skills.

  • And extra content to further enrich your learning experience.
